Launchmetrics Content Team

Tell us a little bit about where you come from…

I’m from a small town called Crawley, I pretty much lived there all my life until I started working at Fashion GPS. I moved around London for a while but I ended up back in Crawley. My Mum is half Malawian and half English and my Dad was raised in Tanzania, so I have a super mixed background.

How did you get into Customer Success?

I’ve worked in Customer Service and Success since I was really young. I was offered my first job when I was 15 working in a hair salon. They hired me after I completed my work experience for college because I got on so well with all the customers.

What led you to Launchmetrics?

I’ve always been interested in fashion– growing up, I always wanted the newest clothes, bags, accessories, everything! My sister and I used to design clothes with crayons when we were younger and decided our shop would be called JOSO (our initials combined), which obviously didn’t happen. Hopes aside, I saw Launchmetrics (previously Fashion GPS) was recruiting for a Client Relations executive, and here I am today!

Please describe your role?

The majority of my role at Fashion GPS is supporting all of our UK clients and ensuring that they have an excellent experience using the system and nothing less! Another big part of my role is managing incoming clients’ sites to make sure they have everything they need before using the system. In a nutshell, I am the mother hen for clients in the UK, haha!

Do you feel like you’ve made an impact in our future?

Not to blow my horn, but absolutely! Fashion GPS is like an international family, we all come together and give ideas and feedback on what can make the product better for our clients. I’ve been with the company for three years now and with all our input, the product just gets better every year.

How is your role changing throughout the years?

My role is changing a lot (especially this year)– the more knowledge you have, the more responsibilities you get! The changes are more internal than external, but it’s fun as always! My role will always be based on our clients and making sure they are happy with the product and our services!

What’s the most interesting challenge you’ve faced while working at Fashion GPS?

I’ve had my share of challenges throughout working at Fashion GPS, but my biggest one coming will be managing New York Fashion Week with another colleague from New York–I’m super excited!

Anything coming up that you’re particularly excited about?

New York, of course! We’ve also recently released a new feature to our events platform that allows people to create tables which is pretty cool!

What’s your favorite app?

I can’t live without Whatsapp.

Favorite designer?

Moschino. I love how edgy it is – I’m still pretty obsessed with their Barbie collection.

What is the first thing you read in the morning?

Whatever I have the most notifications on, which tends to be Whatsapp, Instagram and emails!

Any advice for people looking to do what you do?

Just go for it! Be confident, do A LOT of research and have fun!

Is there anything you want to share that most people don’t know about you?

I broke my nose when I was 12 because I thought it was a good idea to stick my arms and legs inside my jumper and rock back and forth on my chair…. I wasn’t the smartest of kids.

Do you have a motto about your workflow?

Java is the route of all evil.

Pizza or burgers?

This is the easiest question yet: pizza!!!

Mac or PC?

Once you go Mac you never go back. I’m a Mac girl all the way.

What's your funniest Launchmetrics story?

So we used to have an office puppy called Frank. During a busy season, my desk was literally covered in barcode rolls. Frank decided to grab all the barcode labels down from my desk and tangle himself up in them. He then pottered around the office doing his show dog walk looking like an Andrex puppy… but with barcodes.
