#FashionTalks: Anita Tillmann, Managing Partner of PREMIUM

In 2003, the first PREMIUM took place in Berlin. Around 15 years later, the bi-annual international fashion trade show has found its home in Germany’s fashion capital, and attracts over 60,000 visitors who come to see around 1,500 collections on show in the 23,000 square-meter exhibition space. PREMIUM’s motto is: “Quality over quantity”, and that’s what clients get offered. From fine-tuning their seasonal brand portfolio to developing new concepts, PREMIUM is consistently on the move to keep the show unique and stay ahead of the competitive market. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the only trade shows worldwide that brings together premium fashion and lifestyle brands at such a high scale and level of quality.

In this podcast, we were able to interview Anita Tillmann, Managing Partner of PREMIUM, whose goal is to not only make PREMIUM Berlin the most talked-about fashion trade show in the world but also to secure Berlin’s long-term status as an international fashion metropolis.

Anita is a fashion expert through and through. At the early age of 14, she started working at a fashion agency in her then-hometown Düsseldorf, later going from modeling to working in fashion retail and ultimately studying apparel and textile manufacturing. Her extensive experience gave Anita the perfect foundation when implementing the PREMIUM trade show concept.

She knows trade better than most others in the business, always considering the entire supply chain – from materials, cutting techniques and production processes to marketing and sales – and that’s what makes PREMIUM so successful! But that’s not all. Managing four other trade shows and having various small projects on the side, Anita isn’t looking for the “healthy work/life balance”, rather sees herself going through a circle in which professional and private life are deeply connected and seamlessly flow into each other. In the podcast, she shares how she prioritizes to succeed both professionally and privately and points out how important it is to support each other, especially among women.
