Introducing Analyze Coverage: Understand the Conversations Behind Your Media Coverage with AI

Fashion, Lifestyle and Beauty (FLB) brands generate hundreds of placements across channels and Voices everyday. While media monitoring helps brands track coverage and Media Impact Value® (MIV®) helps quantify its impact, understanding the conversations driving that visibility can still be challenging across large volumes of coverage.

That’s why we created Analyze Coverage: a faster way to understand the conversations shaping your coverage.

Built directly within our platform, the new Analyze Coverage feature uses AI to review your feed and provide an analysis of your coverage—from highlighting the most common coverage patterns to identifying the themes your brand sits in. Teams can instantly understand the narratives shaping their visibility for a more powerful analysis of their marketing and PR, while being guided by strategic questions worth investigating for deeper insights.

What is the new AI Analyze Coverage Feature?

Analyze Coverage within Launchmetrics’ media monitoring platform

Analyze Coverage is an AI-powered analysis feature built directly into Launchmetrics’ media monitoring solution. Based on the conversations appearing across coverage, it generates an executive summary, highlights recurring themes and surfaces strategic follow-up questions within seconds.

Whether you’re evaluating fashion week coverage, monitoring a product launch or reviewing campaign performance, the Analyze Coverage feature helps to transform large volumes of coverage into clear and reliable insights that you can easily communicate with confidence.

How Does the Analyze Coverage Feature Work?

The quality of the analysis heavily depends on the context you provide the AI through the filters you use. For instance, this could include a specific brand, event, campaign, product, Voice type, date range or custom tag. Analyze Coverage uses these filters as context when generating its analysis, helping generate more focused and relevant insights.

Without filters, the AI may simply identify that New York Fashion Week dominated your coverage. However, if you filter your feed down to your brand during New York Fashion Week, the analysis can go deeper and uncover which products, collections or ambassadors generated the strongest conversations within the feed.

Once you’ve refined your feed, simply click the Analyze Coverage button. The platform will review the placements and generate three layers of insight progressively.

1. Executive Summary

This provides an immediate overview of the most important coverage patterns within the feed. Users can quickly identify the key conversations emerging across placements and trace every insight back to its original source, helping teams understand what is driving visibility before reporting on performance.

2. Key Themes

The Key Themes section identifies 3-4 recurring narratives appearing across coverage. Each theme includes both a document penetration score and an MIV penetration score, so brands can understand which conversations are generating the greatest impact and which are appearing most consistently across coverage.

As a result, users can distinguish between themes driven by a small number of high-impact placements and themes that have gained widespread traction across multiple Voices and channels, helping them understand which narratives are shaping the conversation around their brand.

3. Follow-up Questions

This section is designed to feel as though a strategic analyst is reviewing the coverage alongside you. The questions generated help users to uncover blind spots, challenge assumptions and highlight opportunities for further exploration. Each question includes a grounded answer supported by citations from the feed, helping teams uncover new opportunities, challenge assumptions and identify areas worth investigating further.

Use Case: A Premium Fashion Brand Reviews its Q1 Performance

Let’s say a premium fashion brand has just finished Q1 and is preparing for a quarterly brand performance review. The team can see the visibility generated throughout the quarter, but they want to understand the narratives driving that performance.

To provide context, they filter their feed by brand, Media Voice and a Q1 date range before running Analyze Coverage. For this example, we’ll use sample data around Zara to bring the analysis to life.

Executive Summary insights include the reoccuring conversations within the brand summary, broken down into bulletpoints and accompanied with citations

The Executive Summary immediately identifies several dominant coverage patterns:

  • Much of Zara’s visibility is being driven by trend-focused editorial coverage, with fashion publications consistently positioning the brand as an accessible way to buy into luxury and runway trends.
  • Across listicles and shopping features, Zara is repeatedly referenced as a destination for “designer-looking” pieces and affordable interpretations of luxury fashion, reinforcing its accessibility.
  • At the same time, the analysis highlights standout moments such as Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl appearance, which generated a different type of conversation focused on cultural relevance and premium brand positioning.
Key Themes highlighted with a breakdown of the themes in terms of stats and the theme description

To help the team understand the recurring narratives, it generates 3-4 Key Themes such as:

  • Trend Translator: reinforcing Zara’s role as a retailer that quickly translates runway trends for a wider audience
  • Celebrity Validation and Designer Legitimacy: reveals a broader shift toward prestige. It also identifies the growing significance of the John Galliano partnership, highlighting how  media outlets framed this move as evidence of Zara’s long-term creative ambitions rather than a typical collaboration.

Finally, the Follow-up Questions section encourages the team to investigate further. For example:

Within minutes, the team moves beyond simply tracking placements to understanding the narratives, themes and cultural moments shaping brand performance throughout the quarter. The analysis can then be exported and shared across internal teams.
