Launching your brand in a new country is no easy feat. Right after launch, PR and marketing teams must be able to answer the question: is our strategy already working in this new market?
In the early phases of expansion, tracking and benchmarking your brand performance can reveal early signals about how your strategy is working.
That’s why Fashion, Lifestyle and Beauty (FLB) brands rely on Launchmetrics Discover and Insights to track regional visibility and report on expansion momentum with confidence. Used together, they allow teams to understand both presence and performance within a new market in one place, without fragmentation.
Below, you’ll see how each solution plays a distinct role in expansion reporting, accompanied by three use cases.
How to Use Launchmetrics Discover for Regional Expansion Reporting
Launchmetrics Discover gives you precise regional visibility when entering a new territory. It answers two fundamental questions: who is talking about us in this market, and what kind of coverage are we generating?
With monitoring across 200+ countries—including China—and millions of print, online and social sources, Discover centralizes global coverage in one place, eliminating the need to manually sift through scattered mentions. Its intuitive interface allows teams to isolate coverage by country, region, language, channel and Voice using structured Focuses and Feeds.

This flexibility enables regional feeds to be built around specific markets, campaigns or events. For advanced filtering, users can then refine using keyword search, Topics & Tags logic and Voice Type or Voice Name filters. And because Media Impact Value® (MIV®) is calculated per placement, brands can evaluate both total impact and efficiency at a granular level.
The best part? These filters and feeds can be saved, meaning regional media monitoring can be reused and reported consistently through customizable newsletters, coverage books or exportable reports.
How to Use Launchmetrics Insights for Competitive Benchmarking
The next layer is context.
Launchmetrics Insights benchmarks your brand against direct competitors and broader industry segments to answer two critical questions: Where do we stand in this market, and are we gaining competitive share?
With thousands of brands tracked on a daily basis, Insights places your performance within a clear competitive landscape. Using Industry and Benchmark dashboards, teams can filter by date range, region, country, Voice and more to evaluate their position within a defined competitor set, all measured through MIV as a consistent metric.

Data visualization charts such as Share of Value, MIV evolution, and Voice and channel mix benchmarks make it easy to see how your regional performance compares both locally and globally. When deeper analysis is needed, Brand Focus enables teams to drill into their own brand or a competitor brand’s performance by region, event or Voice, revealing geographic distribution of MIV, Voice contribution, channel mix and average MIV per placement to assess efficiency.
Voice Focus goes further, allowing teams to analyze individual Voices, compare creator tiers and even dive into specific placements for granular insight. This makes it possible to understand not just overall performance, but exactly which levers are driving impact—and whether competitors are outperforming in the same space.
Fashion, Lifestyle and Beauty Use Cases
1. A Small Premium Fashion Brand Expands into the UK
After opening its first store in London, the Global Head of PR at a small premium fashion brand is tasked with ensuring their visibility in the UK defines the brand’s next growth phase. With a small internal team and a local PR agency on the ground, she turns to Launchmetrics Discover to monitor coverage and how it’s landing in the UK.

By filtering by country (the UK) and by Voice (Print Media), she monitors placements secured by the agency and tracks mentions in priority titles such as Vogue. For future monitoring, she saves this as a feed to come back to.
Using MIV, it helps her to assess whether the coverage is simply present or truly authoritative. On top of this, weekly coverage books and regional print reporting give her clear visibility into agency performance without relying on scattered email updates.
With that context, she refines the 12-month activation strategy toward higher-impact editorial outreach to ensure the brand builds authority over awareness in the UK.
2. A Lifestyle Brand Expands from into APAC
When a Global PR Director at a Swedish-based lifestyle brand prepares to launch into China, she faces complexity. As Chinese platforms such as WeChat, Weibo, RedNote and Douyin operate differently from Western markets, she needs a consistent way to measure brand performance across China, Sweden and other countries. Thanks to MIV, she can measure performance across all channels on a level playing field.

In Launchmetrics Insights, she filters by brand and location to track their visibility in China month over month in the Industry Overview tab. Despite heavy campaign investment, the data shows her that China is not yet a top-performing region.
Following this, she benchmarks her brand’s performance in China against other medium-sized beauty brands to understand why. She sees that most brands have a stronger reliance on authoritative Media Voices alongside selective Influencer partnerships.

When diving into their own brand’s Voice Mix, it shows that Influencers drive the most MIV. This aligns with their spend, as she’s aware they have over 30 contracted creators active. However, only a handful are generating meaningful MIV, while others fail to appear among the top 30 placements.
She decides to recalibrate the Voice Mix in China, reducing reliance on lower-performing Influencers and increasing investment in high-impact Media placements to improve MIV efficiency and competitive share.
3. A Beauty Brand Expands into Spain
After being acquired by a global corporation, a beauty brand expands into Spain with one goal: build visibility fast. The VP of Global Marketing invests in a local Partner to amplify awareness and uses Launchmetrics Insights to judge whether it’s working.
He filters Benchmark views to Spain and reviews Share of Value and competitor Voice Mix to see where visibility is coming from. He then opens the top placements by MIV and finds that their competitors’ strongest impact comes from authoritative Media and established regional Partners. However, the beauty brand’s selected Partner doesn’t show up among the top placements.

When he explores a close competitor’s Channel Mix in Brand Focus, he notices that TikTok drives a much larger share of their MIV in Spain, while his own brand captures only a small portion. Looking back at his own launch window, he also sees that although total MIV spiked at the time, the Partner activation contributed only a limited share relative to the investment.
With this insight, he reallocates budget toward higher-impact Media and proven Partners, increases TikTok investment and adds Voice Mix benchmarks to his dashboard for ongoing monitoring.
